Harrisburg Events and Policy Hearings

When I'm not on the House floor for voting, there are many events and House committee meetings to attend. I proudly serve on several House committees: the Policy Committee Transportation, Consumer Protection, Technology & Utilities, Education, Environmental & Natural Resource Protection, Ethics Committee and Liquor Control. As an avid lover of all animals, I serve on the Animal Protection Caucus too. Committees in the Pennsylvania House review proposed legislation, hold hearings, and refine bills before deciding whether they should advance to the full House for debate and voting.

While in Harrisburg, I met with members of SEIU Local 668 along with Rep. Burgos, discussing funding for public services in the state budget. I’m always glad to support SEIU members as they advocated at the Capitol.

In June, we celebrated Zoo Day at the Capitol, with many of the Commonwealth’s zoos offering free exhibits throughout the day. We also celebrated Working Animal Appreciation Day, with displays on Commonwealth Avenue all day long.

We were happy to welcome the Delaware River Basin Commission to Harrisburg! The commission has been managing, protecting and improving the basin’s water resources since starting in 1961, including water supply planning, conservation initiatives and project reviews.
