Kenyatta announces $1 million in state funding for Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard upgrades

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 21 – State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta, D-Phila., has announced that a $1 million state grant has been awarded to the Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard for upgrades to the facility.

“I am very excited to see this funding go toward the Behavioral Wellness Center,” Kenyatta said. “This funding will provide more safety enhancements for the employees and patients, as well as improvements to the facility as a whole. The upgrades to the facility will provide the people of my district with a safe and reliable place to go for their health.”

The funding comes from the state’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.

RACP projects are authorized in the Redevelopment Assistance section of a Capital Budget Itemization Act, have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact, and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenue or other measures of economic activity.
