Kim to hold Community Classroom news conference Monday

HARRISBURG, Aug. 14 – State Rep. Patty Kim, D-Dauphin, said she will hold a news conference on Community Classroom programs and a new website where parents can sign up to learn more information.

The news conference will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17 at one of the host sites, The Journey Church, 750 S. 29th St. The event will be held outdoors, and masks are required.

“My goal is to get the word out to our parents so that they can plan ahead and make the best possible choices for their children,” Kim said. “We are currently accepting volunteers with clearances and firming up our host sites. I urge anyone with questions about the program to reach out to my office or check out the website so that we can make sure our sites are properly equipped and staffed to handle the needs of our students.”

Additional speakers will include representatives from the Harrisburg School District, participating host sites such as places of religious worship, the Whitaker Center, and the local Jewish Community Center.
