Kortz: Four municipalities in the 38th Legislative District recognized as 2018 Banner Communities

HARRISBURG, March 28 – State Rep. Bill Kortz, D-Allegheny, today announced that four municipalities in the 38th Legislative District he represents have been recognized as 2018 Banner Communities by the Allegheny League of Municipalities (ALOM) and County Executive Rich Fitzgerald.

“I’m ecstatic to announce this recognition for the four municipalities located in the 38th Legislative District,” Kortz said. “It speaks volumes to the dedication and commitment each municipality continues to showcase as they work toward making Allegheny County a place people want to call home.”

The municipalities include Whitehall Borough, Baldwin Borough, Port Vue and South Park. Whitehall Borough has been part of the Banner Community Program since its 2012 initiation.

The program recognizes municipalities committed to professional development, prudent fiscal management, transparency, accountability, and proactive communications to engage community stakeholders.

In its sixth year, the program announced record participation with 55 municipalities designated as 2018 Banner Communities.
