Kosierowski, Policy Committee explore clean renewable energy
CARBONDALE, July 17 – State Rep. Bridget M. Kosierowski, D-Lackawanna, held a House Democratic Policy Committee public hearing today on clean renewable energy at the Carbondale Area JR/SR High School.
Kosierowski requested the hearing to discuss what more the state can do to support clean renewable energy while protecting the environment. She was joined by state legislators from across the state, including Policy Committee Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster.
“Increasing the use of clean renewable energy like wind and solar will help reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint. This will be a big part of the ongoing efforts toward a cleaner Pennsylvania,” Kosierowski said.
Testifiers included Dave Althoff, director of the Energy Programs Office, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection; and Rob Altenburg, director of PennFuture Energy Center.
Sturla added “I commend Representative Kosierowski for wanting to further explore Pennsylvania’s clean renewable energy industry, so we can figure out ways to help grow the industry while protecting our environment.”
This hearing is among a series being held across the state on House Democrats’ Plan4PA, focused on putting people first by growing good jobs, providing health care access, creating quality schools and providing training for jobs in a fair economy.
