Kosierowski supports plan to address gun violence
HARRISBURG, Aug. 16 – State Rep. Bridget Kosierowski offered her support for executive action taken today by Gov. Tom Wolf to reduce gun violence in Pennsylvania.
“I am a trained nurse, but that does not change the fact that it sickens me to hear the daily stories about shootings and suicides that have become too common in our society today. It doesn’t just happen in large cities, but it occurs in small towns throughout Pennsylvania and across the country. It is without a doubt a public health crisis that must be addressed at all levels of government.
“I thank and commend Governor Wolf for announcing a bold and complex plan with a goal of reducing and preventing gun violence; but the governor’s executive order should not be the end to this discussion. Leadership in the Pennsylvania House and Senate also must take action to show that we truly care about the thousands of lives that are impacted by gun violence. Doing nothing is not acceptable,” Kosierowski said.
