Fighting for clear air and water

Dear Neighbor:
This week in Harrisburg, the House was in session and I was busy on the floor and in committee meetings, fighting against bad bills and working with my colleagues to promote legislation that helps you. Keep reading for updates from Harrisburg and around the district.
Please note that both my Harrisburg and district offices will be closed tomorrow, April 19. If you need assistance, please email me at and we will get in contact with you next week.
I hope that you and your family have a safe and happy holiday weekend!

Environmental Resources and Energy Committee Meeting
On Tuesday, the Environmental Resources and Energy Committee pushed through a package of bills designed to make it harder for Pennsylvania to enact regulations to protect our access to clean air and safe water.
I voiced my concern about one bill specifically -- HB 806 -- because it would mean that we could wait even longer for laws to protect public safety. Our legislature has been historically slow to act -- and I’ll continue to fight against this package of bills that will hand over the business of environmental regulation to industry.
I am committed to fighting against this -- and all legislation -- that would harm our environment and natural resources. Watch the video above for my concerns during the meeting.
Recreational Marijuana Listening Tour

Fighting against tax fraud in the construction industry
I joined union carpenters on Monday in the Capitol to show support for their fight against the intentional misclassification of workers and the tax fraud this causes. It’s estimated $450 billion in tax revenue is lost each year due to tax fraud in the construction industry. Working people deserve better and I’m proud to stand with them in this fight.

To celebrate Pretzel Day, my Folsom Office will give out soft pretzels to the first 100 constituents to visit on Friday, April 26. We will also have pretzel trivia and games.
