Krueger announces school safety grants for Wallingford-Swarthmore School District and Notre Dame de Lourdes School

FOLSOM, Oct. 18 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger announced that school safety grants were awarded to Wallingford-Swarthmore School District and Notre Dame de Lourdes School in Swarthmore.

The grants were included in $7.3 million in competitive 2019-20 Safe Schools Targeted Grants awarded by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Grants are awarded to prevent and reduce violent incidents, purchase safety and security-related equipment and to provide for the training and compensation of school resource and police officers.

Wallingford-Swarthmore School District was awarded a $20,000 program grant, and Notre Dame de Lourdes was awarded a $14,595 program grant.

“These grants are investments in the safety of our children,” said Krueger, D-Delaware. “I’m pleased to see the state award these funds, because we know that safety is an essential part of a good learning environment.”
