Madden to co-host ESU walk in recovery Saturday

EAST STROUDSBURG, Sept. 17 – Rep. Maureen Madden, D-Monroe, along with East Stroudsburg University's Wellness Education and Prevention Office and the Carbon-Monroe-Pike Drug and Alcohol Commission, is hosting a walk to celebrate individuals in recovery at East Stroudsburg University.

The walk will occur from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Rugby Field (behind Dansbury Commons).

The event will feature:

  • 9 a.m. - Information tables, vendors and activities.li>
  • 10 a.m. - Walk begins.
  • 10:30 a.m. - Butterfly release.
  • 11:15 a.m. - Lunch served.
  • 11:30 a.m. - Program – music, speakers, stories.

The event is in coordination with National Recovery Month 2019, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary.
