Malagari appointed to three House Committees
HARRISBURG, Jan. 28 – State Rep. Steve Malagari, D-Montgomery, announced today that he has been appointed to serve on three House committees for the 2019-20 legislative session: Aging and Older Adult Services, Liquor Control and Local Government.
“Protecting the rights and interests of older Pennsylvanians, from financial to physical, serves to protect the future of our residents,” said Malagari. “As a member of the Aging and Older Adult Services Committee, I’m ready to get to work and make sure Pennsylvanians know they will be taken care of as they approach retirement and beyond.”
Prior to being elected to the state House, Malagari was a local beverage seller and served in local government as council member for Lansdale Borough and as a member of the Montgomery County Transportation Authority.
“Liquor Control is going to continue to be important for people in our region, as changes in licensing bring new challenges and opportunities to both businesses and consumers,” said Malagari. “I want to make sure that we’re looking out for consumer interests, and supporting the needs and concerns of local businesses that continue to be a vital part of our growing economy and culture throughout our state.”
Malagari further noted regarding his appointment to the Local Government Committee, “I will be meeting with the local municipalities in my district over the coming weeks to talk directly about the upcoming work coming through the Local Government Committee.
“This has a direct effect on how our local towns and municipalities function. I have first-hand experience working with local government and know how vital it will be to continue this work.”
