Malagari applauds $700,000 railroad grant
HARRISBURG, April 29 – State Rep. Steve Malagari applauded the announcement of a state grant of $700,000 for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority to acquire and install positive train control equipment on four Pennsylvania Northeast Rail locomotives.
“It's crucial to invest in transportation in Montgomery and Bucks counties because it's a public transit hub in Pennsylvania. Thousands of commuters depend on rail transit every single day and knowing that they can arrive to work safely is paramount,” said Malagari, D-Montgomery. “I'm extremely pleased that the governor is putting this investment into our rail system, and I hope to continue to prioritize public transit and transportation safety.”
The Wolf administration announced the grant as part of 27 rail freight improvement projects that will help create and sustain 255 jobs across the state. Residents can read more about the state’s investments here.
