Rep. Brandon Markosek sworn in for 1st term as state representative

HARRISBURG, Jan. 1 – State Rep. Brandon Markosek, D-Allegheny, was sworn in today to his first term representing the 25th Legislative District.

“I am deeply honored to serve the people of the 25th District,” Markosek said. “I thank them for their confidence in my ability to best serve their interests in Harrisburg. In the coming term, I look forward to working with my Democratic colleagues and those across the aisle to achieve the House Democrats’ #Plan4PA.”

Markosek explained that the Plan for PA is focused on creating a Pennsylvania that puts working families first by providing good jobs, affordable health care, quality schools and a fair economy.

“The items laid out in the #Plan4PA are sure to enrich the lives of people in Allegheny County and across the commonwealth,” Markosek said.

Markosek is one of 91 House Democrats starting the 2019-20 legislative session, and one of the 24 first-term House Democrats elected for this session. The remaining two seats will be decided by special election this spring.

The Pennsylvania House of Representatives swearing-in ceremony is mandated by the state constitution to convene at noon on the first Tuesday in January. This is the 203rd legislative session.
