Matzie takes oath to begin sixth term as state representative

HARRISBURG, Jan. 1 – State Rep. Rob Matzie, D-Beaver/Allegheny, took the oath of office today to begin his sixth term representing the 16th Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

The swearing-in ceremony began at noon. Today’s ceremony marks the beginning of the 2019-2020 legislative session, the 203rd of the Pennsylvania General Assembly. The state House returns to voting session Jan. 15.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to represent the people of Beaver and Allegheny counties,” Matzie said. “I am humbled by the trust they have shown, and I will repay that trust by doing what I’ve always done - represent the interests of my district to the best of my ability.”                                                                                                        

The 16th Legislative District consists of Aliquippa, the boroughs of Leetsdale, Ambridge, Baden, Conway, East Rochester, Economy, Freedom, Monaca, Rochester and South Heights, as well as portions of the townships of Leet, Harmony and Hopewell.
