AMBRIDGE, Feb. 5 – The Community College of Beaver County has received over $1.6 million in new state funding for capital improvements, state Rep. Rob Matzie announced today.

Matzie, chairman of the House Majority Caucus, said the funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Education includes $1.4 million for a new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system and $225,000 for parking lot upgrades.

“As a proud graduate, I can personally attest to how fortunate our community is to have this career and technical education powerhouse,” Matzie said. “I’m grateful for this new state investment, which will directly benefit our students, workers, and taxpayers.”

In addition to CCBC, Matzie noted that the Community College of Allegheny County received $5.9 million in grants, including $2.9 million for Biology Lab renovations and $3 million for roof repairs on its Boyce Campus.
