Food Resource Organizing Meeting
|
Please join me for my 24th Legislative District Food Resource Organizing Meeting this Thursday, November 13, at 1:00 PM at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary’s Hicks Memorial Chapel. We’ll exchange information, strategize, and network to ensure that no person — especially mothers and families — goes hungry, particularly during times of government shutdowns or cuts to SNAP.
Location:
Pittsburgh Theological Seminary
Hicks Memorial Chapel
616 N. Highland Avenue
Pittsburgh, PA 15206
RSVP:
https://www.pahouse.com/Mayes/Form/?id=1823
Parking:
Ample parking is available in the rear lot, accessible from both North Highland Avenue and Sheridan Avenue. Accessible parking spaces are located along the circular driveway in front of Long Hall for those who require additional assistance.
You are already doing important work to serve our community, and I want to create a space where stakeholders can coordinate as efficiently as possible—uplifting both well-known community resources and those at the most grassroots level. If you are seeking food resources for the people you serve, this meeting will also provide an opportunity to learn and connect. My goal is to share as much information as possible with the residents of my district.
Please complete this form to share what food resources you provide to the community, and it also serves as an RSVP for this meeting. The information on this form will be compiled, updated and shared widely. If you have any questions, please contact Ric Worthey, District Office Director, at 412.665.5502 or RWorthey@pahouse.net.

Changes Likely Coming to Pennie Health Insurance
|
Due to changes in federal law and the non-renewal of the Affordable Care Act’s Enhanced Premium Tax Credits by Congress, health insurance costs are expected to rise significantly in 2026 for people enrolled with Pennie. Premiums are likely to increase by at least 82%, with some individuals potentially seeing their costs double or even quadruple.
If you are currently enrolled, you should be receiving communications from Pennie about these changes. In the meantime, make sure your information with Pennie is up to date, including your income. You can also begin exploring other plans to see if there are more cost-effective options for you. The 2026 open enrollment period for health insurance plans will begin on November 1, 2025.
