Rep. Mayes appointed to four PA House committees

Will work through nuance to better the lives of all Pennsylvanians

HARRISBURG, March 20 – State Rep. La’Tasha D. Mayes, D-Allegheny, announced today that she has been appointed to four Pennsylvania House standing committees – Appropriations, Environmental Resources and Energy, Health and Judiciary – for the 2023-24 legislative session.

“I am very excited to get to work in these committees as they allow me to deal with legislation that I am passionate about and that I believe will create better outcomes for my neighbors at home in Allegheny County,” Mayes said.

“An effective way of working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle in these committees is understanding complexity and working to align our interests for the benefit of those we serve across the Commonwealth,” Mayes said.

“Additionally, I am ready for the challenges that these committee assignments will bring forth, especially reflecting our priorities in our state budget by what we fund.

“With the upcoming budget and its impact on all Pennsylvanians, these committee meetings will play a pivotal role in how we as legislators can create opportunities in the budget for all Pennsylvanians.”
