McCarter invites constituents to help local families through food, toy drives
GLENSIDE, Nov. 12 – State Rep. Steve McCarter, D-Montgomery, announced today his office will be participating in the local Toys for Tots program as well as sponsoring a food drive.
“The holidays are a time to be thankful for everything we have, including time to spend with friends and family,” McCarter said. “However it’s important to remember that not everyone is as fortunate, and many people need just a little help to brighten their holidays. Donating an unwrapped toy or helping to put food on a struggling family’s table may seem like a small gesture, but it can really change a family’s holiday season.”
Donations of new, unwrapped toys are currently being accepted for the Toys for Tots program, sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corps, and non-perishable food items are being accepted to be donated to local food banks.
Constituents can drop off donations through Dec. 10 at McCarter’s district office between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., located at 115 E. Glenside Ave.
