Helping Our Global Neighbors

We are only just beginning to learn the extent of the crushing devastation wrought by Hurricane Dorian. The first major hurricane of the 2019 storm season slammed into the Bahamas as a powerful Category 5 storm. Its forceful winds and heavy rains caused unprecedented flooding and damaged countless homes and businesses on the islands. The death toll is still largely unknown and is expected to rise.

My heart goes out to the citizens of the Bahamas and to all those along the South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia coasts along the storm’s northward path. In our increasingly global community, we are all neighbors. And neighbors help neighbors.
