Rep. McClinton, Sen. Williams to host paper shredding event Saturday

PHILADELPHIA, June 6 – State Rep. Joanna McClinton, D-Phila./Delaware, will co-host a free paper shredding event in her district on Saturday, June 8.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., McClinton, joined by Sen. Anthony Williams, invites residents seeking to securely dispose of old documents to bring them to the Motivation High School parking lot, located at 60th Street and Baltimore Avenue.

“Although some personal documents are no longer needed, they still contain private information, which makes disposing of them in regular trash or recycling risky,” McClinton said. “My paper shredding events allow residents to dispose of these documents with the security in knowing their personal information is protected.”

Residents with documents to shred are advised to remove any paper clips before putting them in the shredder.

Both lawmakers and their staff will also be available to assist people with state government issues such as PennDOT, Medicaid and the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program.
