Over 1,200 constituents attend fourth annual 60th Street Health and Wellness Summer Jam

PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 13– State Reps. Joanna McClinton, D-Phila. /Delaware, Morgan Cephas, D-Phila., and Movita Johnson-Harrell, D-Phila., welcomed more than 1,200 constituents of the 190th, 191st, and 192nd Legislative Districts to the fourth annual 60th Street Health and Wellness Summer Jam, last Saturday.

 

“Since its start, the Summer Jam has always been a success that draws many residents from various communities in my district and the surrounding neighborhoods,” McClinton said. “It’s great when we all come together to celebrate our communities and provide high-quality health and wellness resources to our constituents.”

 

The Summer Jam began with a March for Peace escorted by the Philadelphia Police Explorers and the Philadelphia Drill Teams West Powelton and Magic Music. The event featured health screenings, children’s activities, live performances, food and refreshments.

 

With more than 50 exhibitors, attendees also had the opportunity to gather information on a variety of local organizations and state programs such as AETNA, AARP, and the Philadelphia Department of Revenue.

 

McClinton said she wanted to thank AETNA, JEVS at Home, McDonald Building Company, Health Partners Plans, community partners and volunteers.

 

“It’s important that we keep this momentum of unity and togetherness, not only through family-friendly games and activities, but also through promoting healthy lifestyles,” McClinton said. “I am thankful for my fellow state lawmakers, city officials, the community at large and our sponsors for another successful Summer Jam!”

 

McClinton hosted the event in partnership with Cephas and Johnson-Harrell; Philadelphia Councilmembers Curtis Jones, Jr. and Jannie Blackwell; and local organizations ACHIEVEability and Home Health Care Plus, LLC.
