McClinton and staff to join prayer vigil on March 17

PHILADELPHIA, March 16 – State Rep. Joanna McClinton, D-Phila./Delaware, announced that she will be joining community activist Paul Moore as part of a community prayer vigil.

The vigil will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at 55th Street and Baltimore Avenue.

The location was chosen because it is the site of a recent stabbing and murder.

McClinton will speak on gun control issues facing the legislature in Harrisburg before the vigil.

"On Tuesday morning, I joined a number of my colleagues as part of a new Safe PA Caucus in Harrisburg, with a goal to eliminate gun violence in the state," McClinton said. "We also need to bring attention to other types of violence and find ways to come together as a community."

McClinton and Moore are inviting pastors and other concerned citizen to join them.

McClinton's staff will also be available to assist with constituent issues during the event.
