30 attended McClinton Energy Fair on Feb. 13

PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 19 – State Rep. Joanna McClinton, D-Phila./Delaware, held her first Energy Fair on Saturday, Feb. 13 at The Common Place, 5736 Chester Ave., Philadelphia.

More than 30 attendees were informed of ways the state and other groups can help save money during the winter heating season and all year round.

"The coldest day of the winter was an appropriate time for people to learn about saving money on their winter heating costs," McClinton said. "Constituents were able to meet directly with different utility companies to discuss their programs and advantages, and to learn about weatherizing homes. Preparing a home for winter cold and summer heat can greatly reduce heating expenses and also summer cooling costs, or making a home with no air conditioning more comfortable in the summer."

Those who braved the cold temperatures met with representatives from PECO, PGW and the Utility Emergency Services Fund.

McClinton's staff also provided information and helped a number of low-income families apply for the state's heating grant program, LIHEAP.

McClinton said those in need of heating help for the remainder of the winter should contact her office at 6207 Ludlow St., Unit A, Philadelphia, or call her staff at (215) 748-6712.
