300 attend McClinton Senior Holiday Health and Fitness Expo

PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 5 – State Rep. Joanna McClinton, D-Phila/Delaware, hosted her first Senior Holiday Health and Fitness Expo Dec. 22 at Motivation High School.

About 300 local seniors enjoyed the event, which featured constituent service, local provider displays, holiday entertainment, music, dancing and a holiday luncheon.

"Thank you to the many sponsors and participants who helped make the day a complete success," McClinton said. "Our seniors were able to speak with local health care agencies and pharmacies, senior service groups and financial and retail groups.

"I would also like to recognize those who took part in the program, including my emcee for the event, Tyrone Sims, Pastor Samuel Moore, First Genesis Baptist Church, and my performers, the Evelyn Graves Drama Ministry, Denise Green of All Bodies Love Exercise, and my line dance leaders, the Dashers with Gloria Kingcade, and City Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell."

State and local agencies that participated included the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, the Social Security Administration, SEPTA and the Philadelphia city offices of the Controller, Gas and Water.
