McClinton hosting Senior Holiday Health and Fitness Expo Dec. 6

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 30 -- State Rep. Joanna McClinton, D-Phila./Delaware, is hosting her second annual Senior Holiday Health and Fitness Expo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6 at Motivation High School. 5900 Baltimore Ave., Philadelphia. Attendees will enter through the school yard on the 59th Street side.


Local health care providers will offer screenings and other services, including flu shots. Attendees are required to present their medical insurance cards to receive the flu vaccines.


"This is a great opportunity to meet with a number of agencies and companies that cater to our wisest neighbors – senior citizens," McClinton said. "I look forward to meeting many of our seniors as we celebrate the holiday and pursue healthier lives together! Health screenings, flu shots, a fitness class and many services will be available at the expo.


"This will be a fun and informative event.  A holiday lunch will be served; there will be line dancing, door prizes and other giveaways."


McClinton and her staff also will be able to assist seniors in applying for the state's Low-Income Heating Assistance Program and Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program for 2015 expenses.


Health screenings will be performed by Penn Medicine and Sayre Health Center. Other vendors scheduled to attend are Gateway Health Plan, Keystone First, Always Best Care and PECO.
