McNeill announces state grant for Whitehall Parkway Pavilion
WHITEHALL, May 22 – State Rep. Jeanne McNeill, D-Lehigh, today announced that the Commonwealth Financing Authority approved a $69,622 grant to Whitehall Township to construct a Whitehall Parkway Pavilion for community use.
The project will consist of installing and opening an open-air pavilion with restrooms and concessions areas in Whitehall Parkway. The parkway is a 110-acre park near the center of the township, and is used by many community members to hike, fish, bird watch, explore historical buildings and more.
“The Whitehall Parkway is a beautiful park that is enjoyed by so many, my family included,” McNeill said. “Working to ensure funding comes to projects like this is a highlight of my job as a state legislator, and I look forward to seeing continued improvements and enhancements to our parks.”
McNeill noted and thanked Gov. Tom Wolf and his administration for their dedication to community development. The project is expected to be completed by July 2019.
