Free shredding event planned by McNeill on Saturday
ALLENTOWN, June 11 – Residents are reminded about the free shredding and public safety event Saturday at Salisbury High School sponsored by state Rep. Jeanne McNeill, Fountain Hill and Salisbury Township.
It will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16 in the parking lot in front of Salisbury High School, 500 E. Montgomery St.
The event is for personal documents only and there is a limit of three boxes or large trash bags per vehicle. Attendees are asked to remove all paper clips from documents to be shredded.
Participants must be a resident of Fountain Hill or Salisbury Township and identification will be required.
People are encouraged to bring documents that contain personal information, such as Social Security numbers, credit card statements and applications, medical records, banking statements, canceled checks, tax information, insurance records and retirement or pension fund details.
The Salisbury Township Police Department will have its prescription drug drop-off box on site. Also on hand will be the Eastern and Western Salisbury volunteer fire departments.
McNeill and her staff will provide information about state programs such as the Children’s Health Insurance Program, Medicaid and the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program. Information on how to stop identity theft will be available from the state Attorney General’s Office.
