We’re thrilled to share some exciting news! The Erie City Water Authority successfully secured $6.5 million in funding from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (Pennvest). This package includes a $3,233,574 low-interest loan and a $3,266,426 grant, aimed at replacing around 860 outdated water service connections in Erie’s environmental justice areas.
This significant project promises to enhance water quality and safeguard the city's water infrastructure for future generations. It stands as a powerful testament to our dedication to environmental justice and public health.

Erie Fire Department Unveils New Unit for Water Rescue Team
|

Thanks to a generous grant of $142,234 from the Commonwealth Financing Authority, the Erie Fire Department has proudly introduced a brand new unit for their Water Rescue Team. This crucial addition, funded by the Multimodal Transportation Fund and the Statewide Local Share Account Program, will significantly boost our capacity to address emergencies on our waterways.
A huge thank you to Mayor Joe Schember, Fire Chief Len Trott, and all the dedicated firefighters and divers who tirelessly ensure the safety of our Bayfront. This new vehicle stands as a symbol of our unwavering commitment to public safety and the well-being of our residents. Let's continue to honor and support the heroes in our community!

Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

This past weekend, I had the distinct honor of participating in two community-driven events honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The MLK Awards Dinner was a night filled with inspiration, unity, and celebration as we honored the remarkable individuals who embody Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy of service and justice.
A heartfelt thank you to Mr. James Sherrod and the MLK Center board for organizing such a wonderful program. I also want to extend my gratitude to my colleague, Rep. Jordan Harris, for delivering an outstanding keynote address.
