Registration for 2020 annual Disability & Mental Health Summit available online

HARRISBURG, Jan. 9 – Online registration for the 2020 annual Disability & Mental Health Summit is now available, announced state Rep. Dan Miller, D-Allegheny.

“For the last six years, the Disability & Mental Health Summit has made a difference in the lives of thousands of people,” Miller said. “This year, we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the passage of the landmark Americans with Disabilities Act, along with more than 40 informative sessions and hundreds of exhibitors for those in attendance.”

With 65% to 70% of Pennsylvanians with disabilities not in the workforce, employment will be a major focus of the summit.

“The ADA broke down a lot of doors and there is so much to celebrate,” Miller said. “However, the work is not done, and we should be a state where every 16 and 17-year-old has real opportunity to get a job and develop skills. The first work experience for far too many people with disabilities is delayed for years and too many go underemployed.”

Registration is available at There is no cost to attend sessions or the resource fair.

Miller said this year’s event will again offer continuing education credits for educators, social workers, lawyers, rehabilitation counselors and ASL interpreters. An administration fee is required for each credit, but otherwise the event is free for anyone to attend. Additional information on credits can be found at

A limited number of exhibitor spots remain open, Miller said. Any organizations wishing to have a table should apply online.
