Miller announces $1.25 million grant for St. Clair Memorial Hospital

MT. LEBANON, Nov. 14 – The realignment of North Wren Drive in Scott Township as part of St. Clair Memorial Hospital’s new ambulatory care center will benefit from a $1.25 million grant announced today by state Rep. Dan Miller, D-Mt. Lebanon.

Miller said the new, 290-000-square-foot center spans the boundary between Scott and Mount Lebanon townships, and for the facility to operate correctly North Wren Drive needs rebuilt and realigned to intersect with Bower Hill Road directly opposite Firwood Drive.

“The two roads are currently offset by 80 feet, which causes inefficient traffic movement, limited sight distance and reduced pedestrian safety,” Miller said. “I thank the CFA board for recognizing the immense benefit that will come from funding this important project.”

Miller said St. Clair Hospital is also creating 90 new jobs as part of the $2.9 million total cost project.

The state funding comes through the CFA’s Multimodal Transportation Fund Program, which provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to residents of the commonwealth.

These grants are available for projects with a total cost of $100,000 or more, and the grant cannot exceed $3 million.
