Hazleton airport receives $112,500 grant
HARRISBURG, Dec. 6 – Hazleton Regional Airport today was awarded an $112,500 state grant, announced Rep. Gerald Mullery, D-Luzerne.
Mullery said the airport will use the funding to acquire equipment to maintain the airfield.
“It’s always important to improve our regional assets and this grant will help the airport maintain its operations for years to come. I thank the Wolf administration for recognizing the Hazleton Regional Airport during this round of grants,” Mullery said.
In total, 26 airports across the state will be receiving over $6 million in state investment. Included in the grants is $2.2 million in state funding from PennDOT’s Aviation Development Program, which comes from the state’s jet fuel tax, and $4 million from the Multimodal Transportation Fund.
