Rep. Gerald Mullery January 11, 2022 | 9:18 AM
HARRISBURG, Jan. 11 – Grant funding totaling $300,000 has been awarded to the city of Nanticoke to help first-time homebuyers, state Rep. Gerald Mullery announced today.
“Everyone deserves to have a safe place to call home and protect their families,” said Mullery, D-Luzerne. “I am pleased to see this important investment being made to our area, which will help more families get access to safe and affordable housing.”
The funding was awarded under the HOME Investment Partnerships Program and is part of a package of more than $8.2 million to support affordable housing in 15 counties in Pennsylvania.
HOME program funds can be used in a variety of ways to address critical housing needs, including market-oriented approaches that offer opportunities such as homeownership or rental activities to revitalize communities with new investment. The state Department of Community and Economic Development receives HOME program funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through the annual entitlement appropriation process.
