Mullery reminds residents of free paper shredding event next weekend

NANTICOKE, June 3 – State Rep. Gerald Mullery, D-Luzerne, is reminding residents that his free paper shredding event to help them safely dispose of their unwanted and personal documents is next weekend.

The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11 at Greater Nanticoke High School, 425 Kosciuzsko St., Nanticoke.

“Simply throwing out documents with your personal information is not safe. It gives thieves easy access to commit identity theft or fraud,” Mullery said. "By shredding them before they’re discarded it will provide extra security and peace of mind that your information stays safe."

Mullery said this will be a drive-thru shredding event. Residents are asked to place items in the back of their vehicles to be removed by a staff member and then wait in their vehicles for the boxes or bags to be returned.

This event is only for residential documents. Business documents will not be accepted.

Documents will be shredded on site.

For more information, residents may call Mullery's Nanticoke office at 570-740-7031.
