Committee appointments received by Mullery

HARRISBURG, Jan. 31 – State Rep. Gerald Mullery was appointed to serve on four House committees for the 2017-18 legislative session: Education, Judiciary, Health and Game and Fisheries.

“Committees are where the details of legislation are discussed and honed before bills reach the full House of Representatives,” said Mullery, D-Newport Township. “It’s a privilege to be a member of committees that embody the interests of those I represent in Luzerne County and across the commonwealth.”

Mullery will continue as Democratic vice chairman of the Game and Fisheries Committee and has been appointed Democratic chairman of the Education Committee’s Subcommittee on Career and Technical Education.

“These positions put me at the forefront of leading debates on issues that affect thousands of sportsmen and anglers, as well as helping many students prepare for their future when a college degree isn’t their chosen path,” Mullery said.

Mullery maintains constituent service offices at 156 S. Market St. in Nanticoke and 407 Centre St. in Freeland. The hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. The phone numbers are 570-740-7031 and 570-636-3500, respectively.
