Mullins to host Senior Fair Oct. 18

THROOP, Oct. 11 – State Rep. Kyle Mullins, D-Lackawanna, will host a free Senior Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 at Throop Community Center, 500 Sanderson St.

More than 35 representatives from various agencies and organizations such as AARP, PennDOT, the Attorney General’s Office, United Way and many more will be on-hand to speak with attendees. These representatives will also provide valuable information about health care, prescription drugs, identity theft and scams, and REAL ID, as well as volunteer opportunities.

“As the representative for Pennsylvania's 112th state House district, it's my honor to stand behind the hardworking men and women who have served and supported our communities so generously throughout their lives.

"We are proud to announce our Senior Fair event this year because we know how important it is to strengthen and broaden benefits and services for seniors in Pennsylvania. But we also know that it's just as important for seniors and their caretakers to be aware of – and have access to – all of the outstanding benefits and programs that are in place specifically for them.”

Mullins and his staff will also be available to answer questions and provide information on a wide array of government-related initiatives and programs.

In addition to the government and exhibitor information, the Senior Fair will feature vision, hearing and blood pressure screenings. Flu shots will also be available with an insurance card. Complimentary food and refreshments will be provided.

For more information on the Senior Fair, residents may call Mullins’ district office at 570-383-9795.
