McNeill encourages renters, homeowners to apply for funding

A new form of financial assistance for renters and homeowners financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic will begin accepting applications July 6, state Rep. Jeanne McNeill, D-Lehigh, announced today.

“We need to ensure that Pennsylvania families have quick access to the tools and programs available to maintain their homes as our communities move toward an efficient recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic,” McNeill said. “Whether a renter or a homeowner, hardworking families deserve a way out from the difficult burden caused by the past few months.”

According to McNeill, renters who qualify may receive assistance equal to 100% of their monthly rent up to $750 a month for a maximum of six months of assistance for the time period between March 1 and Nov. 30. The assistance available for homeowners who qualify may be up to $1,000 a month for a maximum period of six months.

Applications for the CARES Act assistance will be available on Monday, June 29. Additional information, including qualification requirements can be found online by clicking here.
