Burgos applauds new appointees to PA commission on Latino affairs

HARRISBURG, Jan. 10 – State Rep. Danilo Burgos, D-Phila., today congratulated the 15 newly appointed commissioners and the 18 returning commissioners sworn in to serve on the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Latino Affairs.

“I commend this group of commissioners, who not only represent the cultural diversity of our community, but also career and geographical diversity. Each appointee lends a tremendous amount of experience and each demonstrates the potential that our exponentially growing community possesses,” Burgos said. “These roles carry immense responsibility and I look forward in helping to shoulder this responsibility as we work together in not only improving the quality of life of Pennsylvania’s Latinos, but also showcasing the caliber of our worth and contributions across our commonwealth.”

GACLA, established by executive order in 2015 and comprising volunteer members, is dedicated to advising the governor on policies that impact Latino American communities and ensures that Latinos across the commonwealth are given the opportunity to thrive in community development, education, equal rights, the workforce, and health and social services in the commonwealth.
