McClinton to co-host Criminal Record Expungement and Sealing Clinic

PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 13 – State Rep. Joanna McClinton, D-Phila/Delaware, announced that she will join Sen. Anthony Williams in co-hosting a free criminal record expungement and sealing clinic.

It will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21 at Myers Recreation Center, 5801 Kingseeing Ave., Philadelphia.

“Many times, a person’s past comes back to haunt them and ruin their chances of living and improving their lives,” McClinton said. “The event provides a great opportunity for people to clear their name in an effort to better themselves and our community.”  

In order to participate in the clinic, reservations are required. Those eligible for the expungement and sealing clinic include individuals with: Philadelphia County arrests only; non-conviction charges or summary convictions with no arrests in the past five years; no pending criminal charges. The person also cannot be on probation. Some second and third degree misdemeanor convictions may be sealed.
