Pashinski hosts shredding event, brings out over a hundred residents

HARRISBURG, April 16 – A paper-shredding event held by state Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski on Saturday, April 13, helped many area residents safeguard their personal and financial data.
The shredding event took place at Wilkes-Barre Area High School, where documents were shredded on-site for those who attended.
“Too many Americans experience identity theft every year,” said Pashinski. “These shredding events are a great way to protect residents’ identity while cleaning up any clutter and making it easier to organize documents. I was glad that there was a great turnout of over 100 cars, and that means over 100 people will not have to worry about identity theft.
“I also want to sincerely thank the Wilkes-Barre Area School District, their staff, and advisors for ensuring an efficient and productive event. A special shoutout to the fabulous Future Business Leaders of America Students and their advisor for a job well done.”
In addition to shredding paper, residents were able to learn more about the many services Pashinski’s office provides, including assistance with applying for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program, PACE and PACENET (the state’s prescription assistance programs), and more.
Pashinski and his office staff said they would like to make this a yearly event for residents living in communities in his legislative district.
