Rep. Petrarca announces Fish for Free Day on Memorial Day weekend
HARRISBURG, May 23 – With the Memorial Day holiday and the unofficial start of the summer season approaching, state Rep. Joseph Petrarca said the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is offering the first of two “Fish for Free Days” on Sunday.
"Not only is it a great way to spend some quality time outdoors with friends and family, it also presents a great opportunity to introduce them to fishing,” Petrarca said. “It could be the start of a productive and satisfying hobby for them.”
Petrarca said the Fish for Free Days allow anyone (resident or non-resident) to fish legally for Pennsylvania's most popular fish without a fishing license from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on May 26 and Thursday, July 4th. All other fishing laws and regulations remain in effect, he added.
More information about the event is available on the Fish and Boat Commission website at https://www.fishandboat.com/Fish/FishingRegulations/Pages/FishForFreeDay.aspx.
