Pielli announces more than $1 million in infrastructure grants

WEST CHESTER, March 17 – State Rep. Chris Pielli, D-Chester, today announced grants that will fund local infrastructure projects.

The projects include sewer authority maintenance and screw pump replacements, culvert replacement, and stormwater management facility upgrades.

“We put our people and local municipalities first when we support these types of projects,” Pielli said. “Infrastructure affects all of us, so I am proud to see that the funding of these projects is and will remain a high priority.”

The grant funding includes:

  • $610,800 to West Goshen Sewer Authority for dual flight screw pumps and upper bearing assemblies.
  • $135,000 to East Bradford Township to replace the culverts underneath the West Ashbridge Street Bridge.
  • $100,000 to East Bradford Township to upgrade the Copland Park Stormwater Management Facility.
  • $176,000 to East Goshen Township for storm water management improvements to the Bow Tree Creek Pond.

The funding comes from the state’s Multimodal Transportation Fund and the Statewide Local Share Account Program. The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to residents of Pennsylvania.

The funds distributed through the Statewide Local Share Account come from gaming revenues. State law provides for the distribution of gaming revenues from PA casinos to support projects in host and contiguous counties that benefit the public interest.
