Pielli announces arts and culture grants awarded to local organizations

WEST CHESTER, Dec. 19 – State Rep. Chris Pielli, D-Chester, is proud to announce that three local organizations in the 156th Legislative District have been awarded more than $98,000 in PA Arts and Culture Grants.

The COVID-19 ARPA PA Arts and Culture Recovery Program (PACR) was created to provide grants to nonprofit arts and culture organizations, local arts and culture districts and arts and culture professionals located in the commonwealth to ensure the stability and recovery of the commonwealth’s arts and culture sector from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The grants have been awarded as follows:

  • Chester County Art Association - $10,897.
  • Chester County Historical Society - $37,764.
  • Uptown Entertainment Alliance dba Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center - $49,950.

“Chester County has such a vibrant community because of our many arts programs,” Pielli said. “The financial consequences of COVID-19 are far reaching, and the long closures our arts programs went through had the potential to be devastating. I am happy to work with state Senator Carolyn Comitta and the commonwealth for delivering this funding to keep the arts alive and well in Chester County and all of Pennsylvania.”
