Pielli announces Small Water and Sewer, H2O PA Program grants

WEST CHESTER, Dec. 19 – State Rep. Chris Pielli, D-Chester, is proud to announce that more than $3 million has been awarded to local townships, boroughs, and sewer authorities in the 156th Legislative District.

Funds distributed through the H20 PA Program provide for single-year or multi-year grants to municipalities or municipal authorities to assist with the construction of drinking water, sanitary sewer and storm water projects. Act 54 of 2022 appropriated $205.4 million of American Rescue Plan Act funds to the H2O PA – Water Supply, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Water Projects Program.

Funds distributed through the Small Water and Sewer Program provide for small water, sewer, and storm system water infrastructure projects. Act 54 of 2022 appropriated $105.6 million of American Rescue Plan Act funds to the PA Small Water and Sewer Program.

The grants have been awarded as follows:

Small Water and Sewer Program

  • West Goshen Sewer Authority - $200,000.
  • East Bradford Township - $263,600.
  • West Chester Borough - $118,088.
  • West Goshen Township - $424,998.

H2O Program

  • West Chester Borough - $500,000.
  • West Goshen Sewer Authority - $1,500,000.

“I’m glad to join state Senator Carolyn Comitta in supporting this funding to improve water infrastructure within our legislative districts,” Pielli said. “Negligence of our storm drains and sewers can have catastrophic consequences. These grants will help rehabilitate and improve our stormwater and sewer systems, giving peace of mind to all in our community.”
