WEST CHESTER, Sept. 15 – State Rep. Chris Pielli, D-Chester, is proud to announce that more than $2.2 million in grants have been awarded to various projects and organizations in Chester County. The funds will go to community projects concerning public safety, tourism, bridge and sewer/stormwater infrastructure improvements.

These Commonwealth Financing Authority grants were awarded as follows:

  • $700,000 – West Goshen Sewer Authority for pump station improvements.
  • $500,000 – West Goshen Township for storm water infrastructure improvements along the North Hill subdivision.
  • $400,000 to Chester County for 911 call center software and equipment.
  • $252,761 to Chester County Water Resources Authority to implement flood safety equipment, sensors and signs throughout the county.
  • $200,000 – Chester County for the purchase and installation of new kiosks at heritage sites and main street areas across the county.
  • $150,000 – East Bradford Township for needed repairs to reopen an additional lane on the Sunset Hollow Road Bridge.
  • $50,546 – to the Regional Clothing Distribution Van Project.

"One of my biggest priorities is working to make sure our district residents and organizations receive the funding that they not only deserve but need," Pielli said. “These grants will go towards public safety improvements, vital infrastructure projects, the promotion of local tourism which helps bring millions of dollars in revenue to our local businesses, and more. I’m proud to work with community partners, my staff and Sen. Carolyn Comitta to continue bringing home these and other grants for the benefit of our entire community."

The CFA administers both Local Share Account funding and Act 13 funding. LSA funds come from the PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act, which allocates gaming revenues to support a variety of Pennsylvania public-interest projects.
