The Facts About Child Protection Laws
Over the last two years, nearly two dozen child protection laws were enacted in Pennsylvania. The new laws are working to keep children safer here in Berks County.
One of the laws expands the requirements associated with the three standard background check clearances Pennsylvanians working with children need to obtain. Here is a how-to guide on the updated requirements, including who needs to get clearances and how often they need to be renewed.
In addition, the state has developed a website to help: keepkidssafe.pa.gov. There, you can download application forms, find out how to report child abuse and learn about all the new protection laws.
