Sappey appointed to Subcommittee on Military and Veterans Facilities

HARRISBURG, March 20 – State Rep. Christina Sappey, D-Chester, announced she was appointed to the Subcommittee on Military and Veterans Facilities.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to represent the interests of our military and veterans within the commonwealth through this appointment,” Sappey said. “Working with this subcommittee will create more opportunities to support government facilities and clarify environmental and financially responsible actions when closures occur.”

The subcommittee serves under the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee.

The committee’s overall responsibilities include the review of bills affecting veteran-related and other military issues, as well as disaster preparedness and emergency response; and oversight of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, as well as the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services under the Department of Health.
