Rep. Christina D Sappey May 31, 2019 | 3:11 PM
Thank you to everyone who attended my telephone town hall on Wednesday, May 29. We had a great discussion and I enjoyed learning more about the residents of the 158th legislative district.
For those of you who couldn’t join us, I’d like to share the results from the polling questions that were asked during the event.
Responses to these questions showed me where our community members stand on some important issues. For example, 35% of constituents said that property taxes and school funding is the biggest issue facing our area, and our environment and open space took second place at 28%.
Seventy-four percent of participants also expressed that it’s time for Pennsylvania to start gradually raising its minimum wage for the first time in more than a decade.
The last polling question revealed that 88% of participants agree that Pennsylvania should make out-of-state gas drillers pay a severance tax, like they do in every other state.
