As the House Democratic Caucus Chairman and prime sponsor for HB 141 (Grow Your Own Educators), Pa. state Rep. Mike Schlossberg has been working tirelessly in his effort to improve the education system in Pennsylvania. Between low wages and the ever-growing teacher shortage, our students are the ones who will be impacted most from teacher burnout. Grow Your Own Educators Program creates a pathway for high school students, young professionals, and community members to enter the profession to partner with school districts, community-based organizations, and colleges. These programs help create a more diverse and culturally competent teacher workforce.
