Shusterman announces $93,615 in fire and EMS grants

PAOLI, Feb. 18 – State Rep. Melissa Shusterman, D-Chester, announced today that $93,615 has been awarded to fire and EMS companies in the 157th Legislative District.

The funds come from the Office of the State Fire Commissioner as part of its annual Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services grant program. Eligible organizations can use the money for facility improvements, new equipment, debt reduction, training, education, recruitment, retention, and new facility construction.

The grants were awarded as follows:

  • Paoli Fire Co. - $30,312
  • Berwyn Fire Co. & Ambulance - $31,136      
  • Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Co. - $32,167     

“These grants are a testament to our continued support of our first responders,” Shusterman said. “Investing in our emergency services provides us with safer communities. I’d like to thank the Office of the State Fire Commissioner and the Shapiro Administration for continuing to invest in our fire and EMS companies.”
