Sims to host Wednesday news conference to address prohibiting conversion therapy on minors
HARRISBURG, Oct. 21 – State Rep. Brian Sims, D-Phila., announced that he will host a news conference on banning conversion therapy on minors at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 at the lieutenant governor’s balcony of the state Capitol.
Sims will be joined by state legislators, mental health and LGBTQ advocates, including a representative from The Trevor Project, to discuss legislation that would address harms associated with conversion therapy by prohibiting mental health professionals from performing conversion therapy on an individual younger than 18.
