Eighth annual Greene County Senior Fair scheduled for Oct. 4

CARMICHAELS, Sept. 30 –State Rep. Pam Snyder has announced the eighth annual Greene County Senior Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4 at the Greene County Fairgrounds.

“Each year, I look forward to our Senior Fair, an event that’s always fun and welcoming and allows me to hear from older residents in the community,” Snyder said. “Seniors can get valuable health screenings and information on a wide variety of programs and services tailored to them, and also enjoy great music, lunch, and a chance to win prizes.”

Sponsored by Snyder, state Sen. Camera Bartolotta, Greene County Commissioners Blair Zimmerman, Dave Coder and Archie Trader, and the Southwestern Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging, the free Senior Fair features representatives from state, local and county agencies, and vendors who provide services to seniors.

“The Greene County Senior Fair is an excellent opportunity for older adults to find out what programs are available to help them with their daily routines,” said Bartolotta, R-Beaver/Greene/Washington. “I would encourage everyone to stop by the fairgrounds and learn what programs are offered.”

“This special event provides a great opportunity for area seniors to get a massive amount of information that can be truly beneficial for them,” Greene County Commissioner Blair Zimmerman said. “We encourage all of our seniors to come to this Senior Fair and take advantage of this opportunity.”

Lunch will be provided by the Greene County Career and Technology Center and music will be provided by John Koval and Two To Win.

Attendees will be able to receive a free flu shot by presenting their Medicare card, and a prescription drug take-back program will also be available on site for seniors.
